THE GLOBAL INTENT – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS

Reservations

Please note that by registering for travel with The Global Intent, you are certifying that you do not have any mental, physical, or other condition, disease, or disability that would create a hazard for yourself or others on your Tour.

Required Deposit

Tours are booked and confirmed only upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $500, $750, or $1000 of the total tour costs (additionally, any separate deposits for flights are non-refundable). Deposits are applied toward your payment of the Tour price. There shall be a binding contract once the Deposit has been received and your booking has been confirmed in writing.

Final Payment

Final payment of the remaining balance of your Tour cost is due at least 60 days before travel.

If full payment is not received by the final payment due date, we reserve the right to treat your reservation as canceled, subject to the cancellation terms in Section 2 below.

Unexpected Price Increases:

Tour prices are based on tariffs, exchange rates, and supplier costs, valid when we print and advertise our Tours. Should a rate vary against the U.S. Dollar by more than 3%, our travel vendor reserves the right to recalculate the Tour cost and apply the differential as a surcharge. Our Travel Vendor also reserves the right to adjust its Tour rates in case of any appreciable variation in cost due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g., increased supplier costs). Any increase of more than 10% in the cost of a Tour over the original price quoted to you will constitute a “substantial change” in the terms of the Tour and will entitle you to cancellation rights as outlined in Section 2.b. below. Any refund shall be in its absolute and sole discretion.

We reserve the right, without penalty, to make changes to a Tour itinerary whenever, in our judgment, conditions warrant or if we deem it necessary for the safety, comfort, and convenience of our Tour participants.

2. CANCELLATION POLICY AND REFUNDS

Cancellation by Participant

Following Confirmation of a reservation, any withdrawal by you from the Tour for any reason, including but not limited to illness, injury, family engagements, work-related issues, or geopolitical concerns, etc., will be deemed a cancellation.

A written cancellation received at least 90 days before your Departure date means your Deposit will be forfeited, but you will have no liability for the remainder of the Tour price. Cancellations received 89 days or less before your Departure date lose 100% of the entire Tour cost. For this reason, trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended. We recommend the following vendors for travel insurance: Allianz Insurance and Travel Guard.

If you wish to cancel a Tour, you must notify us in writing.

Cancellation by Travel Vendor

We reserve the right to cancel, shorten, or otherwise alter or modify any Tour without prior notice due to (i) failure to meet that Tour’s minimum enrollment, (ii) concerns about the safety, health, or welfare of our Tour participants, and/or (iii) changes to air or ground transportation, status of accommodations, or security issues beyond our control. If we make any significant changes before Departure, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible about available alternatives. Such changes may require a supplemental payment from you.

If we must cancel a Tour for any reason, all Deposits and monies paid will be fully refunded within 45 days of our cancellation announcement. If there is a cancellation or change by us or any of our contractors, which is rare, we will use reasonable efforts to reimburse you where possible or, at our sole discretion, give you a tour credit to participate in an alternative Tour. If the alternative Tour you choose is of lesser or greater value than the Tour originally booked, you will be entitled to a refund of the price difference or be required to pay the price difference, whichever the case may be. We are not responsible and will not reimburse you for any personal expenses such as airline tickets, hotel, or other travel expenses arising from itinerary changes or Tour cancellations. We shall be entitled to deduct from any refund any non-refundable deposits and third-party cancellation fees.

We reserve the right, without penalty, to require any participant to withdraw from the Tour at any time (including but not limited to reasons such as inappropriate, illegal, dangerous, or offensive behavior) when such action is determined by Tour staff to be in the best interests of the health, safety or general welfare of the Tour participants (or any of them). In such a case, no refunds will be provided to the withdrawing participant.

c. Other Circumstances Constituting Cancellation

If a participant fails to join a Tour after Departure or leaves a Tour before its completion, The Global Intent and its travel vendors will not refund any monies. If you are a “no-show” for any reason, we shall be entitled to treat your reservation as canceled without notice, and the travel vendor cancellation policy shall apply. No refund will be given for any unused portion of your Tour for any reason. If the reason for the cancellation falls within the terms of any travel insurance policy you may hold, then any such charges may be refunded to you by your insurance company, subject to the terms of the policy. Again, we highly recommend travel/cancellation insurance for this reason.

3. MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

If a Tour participant becomes so ill or incapacitated as to be unable to direct their own care, and there is no one on the Tour who can direct that participant’s care (such as a spouse, adult child, or adult friend holding a health care power of attorney), and or the local tour operator is unable to contact the participant’s emergency contact, the participant, by registering and paying a Deposit, authorizes the provision of emergency medical treatment in the event of any injury or illness while participating in the Tour, including but not limited to medical examination and diagnosis, X-rays or other mechanical diagnostic procedures, anesthetic, or treatment and hospital care.

By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, you certify that you will have medical insurance that will cover accidents, injuries, medical expenses, and any and all other expenses that might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay, or inconvenience occurring to you. If you do not have this medical insurance coverage, or you incur costs not covered by your medical insurance coverage, you agree to pay all costs of rescue and/or medical services as may be incurred on your behalf.

4. FORCE MAJEURE

“Force Majeure” means any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of The Global Intent and our vendors, including without limitation acts of God, flood, fire or accident, war or threat of war, sabotage, terrorist act, insurrection, civil disturbance, or requisition, sickness, pandemic, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions or other uncontrollable occurrences. If an event of Force Majeure results in our vendors having to cancel, postpone, or change a Tour, which it may do in its absolute discretion, our vendors will notify you as soon as reasonably possible regarding the nature and extent thereof. The Global Intent and our Travel Vendors shall not be deemed to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions or otherwise be liable to you because of delay in performance or non-performance of any of its obligations hereunder to the extent that any such delay or non-performance is due to an event of Force Majeure.

Because we make substantial and non-refundable payments to our suppliers far in advance of the scheduled Departure date of a Tour, payment of any refund by us to you as a result of the non-performance of any obligations under Force Majeure will be less any non-refundable deposits and third-party cancellation fees.

In the event of civil unrest, our in-country travel vendors will investigate the prevailing situation at the destination and on the Tour itinerary and will have sole discretion to decide whether to proceed with the trip. If our Travel Vendors decide that the trip may proceed, the cancellation policy in Section 2 above shall apply.

5. INSURANCE

We highly recommend that you obtain the following types of travel insurance that cover medical emergencies, evacuation, loss of personal items, repatriation, and all other expenses that might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay, cancellation, or other inconvenience occurring to you:

  • Emergency Evacuation

  • Major Health/Medical

  • Accidental Death and Disability

  • Loss of Personal Effects

  • Trip Cancellation (must be purchased at or before booking)

ASSUMPTION OF RISK; INDEMNIFICATION AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY

By reserving a Tour, you acknowledge that you are aware that there are many risks and uncertainties inherent in any travel, for example, risks related to transportation, forces of nature, events such as terrorism, war or insurrection, willful or criminal conduct of third parties, illness, infectious diseases or widespread communicable disease outbreak (e.g.,COVID-19, SARS, etc.) or another public health emergency. You acknowledge that the Tour to which you are committing may involve potentially dangerous activities, some in remote areas of the world, with risks that may not exist in your home country. You further understand that medical services or facilities in the areas visited by the Tour may not be readily available or accessible or consistent with standards or quality found in your home country. By reserving a Tour, you knowingly consent to assume these risks.
